Watford General Hospital

Odyssey acted as highways and transport consultant, alongside the principal consultant BDP, for a new hospital to replace the existing facilities at Watford General Hospital, on behalf of West Herts Hospitals Teaching NHS Trust. The project is part of the UK Government’s New Hospital Programme.

We advised the scheme architect on the masterplan layout, liaised with local authorities and other stakeholder groups, and prepared the highways reports for submission. Outline planning permission for the £1.1 billion hospital complex was secured in 2022.

Odyssey remains involved, and is currently supporting Phases 2, 3 and 4 of the enabling works programme, which includes a series of Section 278 applications for new site accesses.
