Travel plans and coordinator role

A Travel Plan sets out how a development will encourage people to walk, cycle, use public transport or share journeys in place of driving alone. It normally contains specific targets and measures tailored to the site, which are monitored over time.

Odyssey prepares Travel Plans to support outline planning applications and to discharge planning conditions.

We also act as Travel Plan Coordinator for a significant number of sites, carrying out the ongoing monitoring, typically over a five-year period.

Car clubs can form part of the plan. They help to reduce the number of private cars and parking spaces a development needs. We liaise with car club operators to set up a service for the development, either by joining an existing car club or by designing one for the exclusive use of its residents and commercial occupiers.
